Rachel McCartney is releasing a new album, Taming Dragons, and sharing it at Club Passim feels like a true homecoming. McCartney celebrated her previous record release at Passim seventeen years ago, while very pregnant with her now teenage son. If you were hanging out in Boston in the early 2000s, it’s likely you’re no stranger to McCartney’s music. She spent her nights playing local and regional venues and her mornings busking for hours at a time in the subway stations. After stepping back from music to fully commit to her career as a labor and delivery nurse, McCartney is back on the scene with a new record and over a decade of stories to share.
